Este trabajo presenta el desarrollo de un robot social basado en la leyenda mexicana del Charro Negro, diseñado específicamente para interactuar durante celebraciones del Día de Muertos en un evento de divulgación científica. El proyecto se desarrolló siguiendo la metodología del modelo evolutivo con prototipos, integrando tecnologías avanzadas como impresión tridimensional (3D) e inteligencia artificial (IA) para el procesamiento del lenguaje natural. El diseño combinó elementos tradicionales con conversación contextual y movimientos adaptados. Una encuesta de satisfacción aplicada a los participantes tras la interacción arrojó resultados muy positivos, demostrando la viabilidad de crear interfaces robóticas culturalmente relevantes que establecen conexiones significativas, fusionando ciencia, tecnología, entretenimiento y cultura.
This paper presents the development of a social robot inspired by the Mexican legend of El Charro Negro, specifically designed to interact during Día de Muertos celebrations at a science outreach event. The project was developed following the evolutionary model with prototypes, integrating advanced technologies such as three- dimensional (3D) printing and artificial intelligence (AI) for natural language processing. The design combined traditional elements with contextual conversation and adaptive movements. A satisfaction survey conducted with participants after the interaction yielded highly positive results, demonstrating the feasibility of creating culturally relevant robotic interfaces that establish meaningful connections by merging science, technology, entertainment, and culture.
